COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

At MBD we value community engagement and empowerment.

As a leader in the use of immersive and creative technologies within the arts and culture sectors, we take knowledge sharing with the next generation of artists and creative technologists seriously. Alongside all of our productions, we run workshops, school holiday activities, training and drop-in sessions that give more people the opportunity to learn and create through the use of new technology.

Our Community Engagement program is focused on:

  • Participation and Community Empowerment

  • Sector Development

WHAT WE OFFER

Our participatory activity takes many forms.

It might entail hosting workshops or introductory sessions where individuals encounter immersive media for the first time. Alternatively, we collaborate closely with those lacking access to tools or with limited creative project experience, to co-design entire projects together.

At MBD, we possess the necessary skills, expertise, and equipment to foster greater involvement and inspiration. Our kit includes top-tier gaming laptops, VR headsets, graphics tablets, and scanning gear.

We also extend access to our virtual production and motion capture studios, complemented by our good old-fashioned passion and enthusiasm for what we do.

Every month we host activities, workshops and community outreach events both at our studio in the centre of Leicester City and at festivals and community partner events across the Midlands. We also offer half-term activities for young people 8-16yrs.

Discover all our upcoming events in the link below.

We're eager to support more individuals in nurturing their creativity and contributing to the future of cultural and creative domains. To learn more about our engagement and outreach opportunities, please don't hesitate to reach out or subscribe to our mailing list.
