Join immersive storytellers MBD in the first of three workshops* for young people exploring Corby’s steel making heritage through the use of immersive and creative technology.

In this session you’ll get hands-on with items from Corby’s steel making past, hear from local heritage experts and craft stories using local archives. You will also be introduced to the basics of creating 3D models through digital scanning.

*we encourage you to attend all three sessions, but this is not required and young people can attend any session they wish

About Steel Town Tales Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Steel Town Tales is an exciting heritage project focused on uncovering the rich history of steel production in Corby. It spans from early Viking settlers in the 9th century to the peak success of steel making in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and continues through to ongoing production today. Steel Town Tales will bring the town's history to life with an immersive co-location Virtual Reality (VR) Experience, premiering in Corby town centre in Summer 2024.

MBD is currently supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund to create Steel Town Tales, a VR experience showcasing Corby’s steel heritage. Find out more at: www.steeltowntales.co.uk.
