Are you an experienced professional with a passion for growth and innovation?
JOIN OUR BOARD!
We're seeking dynamic individuals to join our Advisory Board and help us stay true to our mission and grow with integrity!
Our board are our dream team, assembled with expertise in a variety of fields. We look to them for advice, support and guidance as we bring to life our vision for a new arts and culture sector.
Is this a paid position?
No, this is a voluntary position but we do pay expenses. We see the Board as an extension of our team. The Board support us in growing our profile and fulfilling our creative, social and business potential while providing challenge and oversight. Whether offering legal advice or helping us make our work more accessible, we need people who believe in us and who can offer a little time to make big difference.
What would you need to do?
We ask board members to attend meetings every three months. Usually they take place in Leicester, but we also have members who join us remotely. We will sometimes need to tap into your individual expertise as we develop and grow so we need to be able to reach out and ask for your help when we need it.
We will go through financial and operational matters at board meetings. Not everyone thinks it is the most exciting bit of the job, but it is important and we strive for transparency and best practice. We are a non-profit company, but we are a business, and we take that just as seriously as our creative work.
Would you have legal obligations?
No. Ours is a non-executive board. We call it an ‘Advisory Board’. It acts very much like any other board and it is no less important but the company is owned by the workers, so advisory board works better for our own organisational values.
What would you get from it?
You will be part of a team who are passionate about having a positive social impact. Our board members are an exciting group with expertise, knowledge and warm hearts. The connections you make can be valuable. MBD is dynamic and innovative, and you can play an important role in shaping what arts and culture looks like in the future. You get to be involved in conversations about things that are genuinely interesting and you get to play with Virtual Reality headsets as part of the role. We are trying to make the world a little better, and you can make it better with us.
